Hank Pym took care of it. My office, too, the second I got the keys. I wasn't taking any chances after the first break-in.

[ Even if that's something of a false comfort. Harvey has powers-- he must-- and who knows what they are? ]

What worries me more is the silence.

[ God, this is such an awkward question. But Matt feels like he needs to know. Or at least, he needs it as cleared up as possible. ]

His interest-- it's strictly intellectual?

[ Not that this would stop him from trying to murder Matt's lover in a fit of jealous rage. Not that Matt knows he may have tried to do that, before she ever even was his lover. ]

[ She actually has to stop to consider.

In all this time she has had to deal with Dent, she's never fully understood why he was so interested in Matt. It was more than having the same occupation. He sees something in the other, but what? ]

If it had been romantic, he would have made it obvious. He... did with Renee, at least.

[ Admittedly, since the other person who suspect it is Lil, Matt can't be sure it's not her jealousy. But considering he was already confused on this matter-- Matt himself, who usually knows these things in clear detail-- ]

He... once told me he loved Renee.

He's never spoken about you like that, but I admit we don't exactly talk at length about his personal life and feelings.

It becomes more and more unnerving to think that people have discussing me with him behind my back.

[ And no he doesn't really mean her. But Lil's done it too, and he still doesn't know what all went on there. ]

He's done something to make Lil jealous.

[gevurah]

[ Resolutely: ]

We don't talk. I stay away from him as long as he stays away from the people I care about.

[ She pauses. ]

What did he do?

If I knew, I wouldn't have to worry about what he's been up to.

She won't tell you?

[ Ah, relationship issues already?

She does have to wonder what Harvey Dent can do to make anyone jealous. ]

[ Kate in what universe does it seem possible for Matt Murdock to be with a woman and not have "relationship issues"? ]

I'm not sure it's something she can explain.

[ But yeah she won't talk to him about it, really. ]

Unfortunately, he's always had a knack for causing problems in relationships.

He's not a problem.

[ God help Harvey if Matt ever finds out what he did. He's lost too many lovers to take it anything less than deadly serious, and not even his precarious status here would stop Matt from putting Harvey in the hospital. Permanently, if necessary. ]

I won't let him become a problem.

[gevurah]

Neither will I.

[ In many ways, she wants to be the one to get her hands on Harvey first. ]

I'm not going to let him try to sabotage everyone else's happiness because he has jealousy issues.

[ They'll have to compromise and go for him together. ]

Has he upheld the noninterference agreement with you?

[ I.E. not tried to get between her and Matt himself. ]

[ Dibs on the first punch. ]

He has. Probably because Renee's been gone some time now.

If I asked for details on what really happened between them, would you feel comfortable answering?

[ He's never sure if he has the whole picture there. Or why Renee wasn't more forthcoming with her warnings. But everybody seems so damn cagey about Harvey Dent. ]

[gevurah]

Not entirely, but for other reasons.

[ She will never fully understand why Renee has tried to stay in the closet here. ]

I will tell you, though.

I would appreciate that.

[ It's not as though Matt would care if she came out. ]
