[What the hell other "Danny and Luke" could there be?]

Kate, you know I know who they are. You know a lot about me, even if you're not saying it. But I didn't know they were here.

I never met them, but Nill's always been very fond of them.

[ And Matt owes them both a lot, although they've never truly discussed it. ]

How did your day with Lil go?

Moving in together is a big decision. When's the housewarming party?

[ Well. That didn't answer his question at all. He also can't tell if that's a joke or not, because. Lil. ]

...Whenever she feels like putting one together, I suppose. Did she say we were having one?

[ Entirely possible she'd decide that without him. Since she's not speaking to him. Housewarming parties are not a Matt Murdock thing. He's not generally a fan of large numbers of people in his houses. ]

No, but I'm surprised you haven't had one yet.

[ But she's immediately silent, contemplating something. ]

Not having unwanted visitor problems still, are you?

Party-planning requires a kind of attention to small detail and organization that I've always let somebody else handle.

[ Although his plans to think about broaching a party subject with Lil and see if it improves her mood with him any become conveniently derailed with the change of subject. ]

He hasn't stopped by for months. But I'm not naive enough to think that's because he lost interest.

[gevurah]

[ A brief pause. ]

He doesn't know when to quit and now that Renee's gone...

[ She knows he'll turn his attention to Matt again eventually. ]

Edgeworth left, too. If he had any solid allies...it would have been him.

[ Matt's more than familiar with this kind of crazy. Well. Similar kinds of crazy, to this kind of crazy. Harvey doesn't quite slot into any of the usual categories for Matt's antagonists. ]

I don't trust that he'd honor the noninterference agreement anymore either.

[ She's certain of it. ]

You need any security set up? I know someone.

Hank Pym took care of it. My office, too, the second I got the keys. I wasn't taking any chances after the first break-in.

[ Even if that's something of a false comfort. Harvey has powers-- he must-- and who knows what they are? ]

What worries me more is the silence.

[ He's a bomb waiting to go off. ]

[ God, this is such an awkward question. But Matt feels like he needs to know. Or at least, he needs it as cleared up as possible. ]

His interest-- it's strictly intellectual?

[ Not that this would stop him from trying to murder Matt's lover in a fit of jealous rage. Not that Matt knows he may have tried to do that, before she ever even was his lover. ]

In all this time she has had to deal with Dent, she's never fully understood why he was so interested in Matt. It was more than having the same occupation. He sees something in the other, but what? ]

If it had been romantic, he would have made it obvious. He... did with Renee, at least.

[ Admittedly, since the other person who suspect it is Lil, Matt can't be sure it's not her jealousy. But considering he was already confused on this matter-- Matt himself, who usually knows these things in clear detail-- ]

He's never spoken about you like that, but I admit we don't exactly talk at length about his personal life and feelings.

It becomes more and more unnerving to think that people have discussing me with him behind my back.

[ And no he doesn't really mean her. But Lil's done it too, and he still doesn't know what all went on there. ]

He's done something to make Lil jealous.

We don't talk. I stay away from him as long as he stays away from the people I care about.

She does have to wonder what Harvey Dent can do to make anyone jealous. ]

[ Kate in what universe does it seem possible for Matt Murdock to be with a woman and not have "relationship issues"? ]

I'm not sure it's something she can explain.
